SEATTLE, WA – November 27, 2018 – DigitalTown (OTC:DGTW) – with its mission to make it easy for people to search, find and buy from local businesses – announces important product changes following a thorough analysis of the company’s blockchain-based Platform as a Service (PaaS) technology. Now with a focus on search and pay, the DigitalTown ecosystem features the ability to search for local businesses and pay using the free SmartWallet.

DigitalTown continues to provide all businesses with a free online directory listing. Any type and size of business can appear among the first in local search results within the DigitalTown ecosystem. Merchants can save money on every transaction using the free SmartWallet. All that is required is a smartphone, tablet or PC and an Internet connection.

Merchants and consumers are rewarded for engagement with CommunityPoints. Consumers can collect CommunityPoints every time they use the SmartWallet. These points, which bear no monetary value, can be exchanged with participating merchants for goods, at the discretion of the merchants.

DigitalTown CEO, George Nagy, comments: “The paring back of the DigitalTown product has been an important exercise for us. Our experience to date has shown us that while the market responded favorably to the ambitious DigitalTown vision of supporting local communities and keeping business local, our product range was too broad. We are now focusing on local search and SmartWallet payments, initially in Austin, where a growing number of businesses are registering to take advantage of the free directory listing.”
